Biography-
Based out of Long Island NY, singer/songwriter Rebekka Carol began playing audiences still in her teens. Picking up the guitar at age twelve, Rebekka found an outlet for her singing and songwriting that had been an aspiration since she was a young child. Native to the small town of Westhampton NY, there was little opportunity for young artists. Realizing her passion for music, she decided to embark on what now has become the start of her musical career.Because of feeling troubled as a teenager, Rebekka ran away from home at the age of 16. She traveled the country for 6 months devoid of any money or destination. After being arrested in Arizona as a juvenile, she was forced to go back home to NY to live with her parents. Leaving soon after and trying unsuccessfully to start her new life in Florida, she returned home to NY to begin work on her music. Growing up in a family with no musical background, this turbulent journey provided the life experience needed to become the biggest inspiration behind her songwriting. At the age of 19, Rebekka made her debut among the local music scene as an acoustic artist. Because of the overwhelming positive response she received, she was encouraged to take on the challenge of independently releasing her own album entitled, "Strangely Innocent". This album, released in Feb. 2001, opened up new opportunities for Rebekka along with helping her make a name for herself among the local music scene. She performed on local cable shows such as LT1, The Jill Morrison Show and Channel 12 News L.I. Her songs are being played on radio stations 90.1 (WUSB) Stony Brook and 89.5 (WPKN) Conn. & 92.7 WLIR Tri-State sounds.
While continuing to perform acoustic with writing partner Brian Lupo at the local clubs and coffeehouses, Rebekka can now be seen performing with her band "EVA".
